Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much does Blog Rocket cost?
A: It’s free. 100% free. In fact, money *never* goes from you to us. It only goes from us to you.
Q: I’m not a tech person, is this easy?
A: Yes, very easy. All you really need to have ready is a 512 x 512 logo. We’ll ask you for some marketing text for your app. Otherwise, it shouldn’t take you more than a few minutes.
Q: I completed my app 15 minutes ago and I don’t see it in the Android Market or iTunes. Where’s my app?
A: The Instant Web App is immediately available. It will take 1-2 business days to get your Android app to you. Then, you will need to publish it in the Android Market. Apple no longer accepts single site apps, so it will be quite a while before you find it in iTunes.
Q: How do I change my feeds after I publish?
A: You’ll have to email support@blogrocket.com to change your feeds, or the names of your feeds, after you publish your app.
Q: What phone platforms are supported? What do I get?
A: Here’s what you get: An Android App* and an Instant Web App that works on all smartphones: iPhone, Android, and Blackberry.

*Requires an Android Market Developer account.
Q: Where will my app appear?
A: You will have the option to publish your Android app in as many markets as you’d like*. You can find a list of the most popular Android markets here:

We will also provide you with widgets you can use on your website to promote your apps on all platforms to your readers.

* Only apps in the Android Market can currently receive push Notifications.
Q: How do I get new readers?
A: Besides the SEO opportunity in the Android Market, your app will also be present in our App Gallery.
Q: I keep submitting my logo and it keeps failing. What gives?
A: Your logo must be, has to be, exactly 512 px x 512 px. If you drop it in a browser, it should tell you the exact size.
Q: Why do you ask for my Twitter? How is it used?
A: We use your Twitter name for two reasons. One, so that you can include your Tweets in the app. Two, when readers share your stories via Twitter, we will include a mention to your Twitter account in the default Tweet.
Q: How do I change my feeds after I publish?
A: You’ll have to email us at support@blogrocket.com in order to change your feeds.
Q: How do you get content into the apps?
A: We pull all the content into your apps via RSS feeds. If it has an RSS feed, we can put it in the app.
Q: Is content updated automatically? How often?
A: Yes, your app content is updated automatically. We’ll check your RSS feed for new content every 20 minutes.
Q: If I update my post, will you pick up the change?
A: Only if you update the timestamp on the post.
Q: What are these feed names used for?
A: The feed names are displayed to the readers in the app. They are used as section titles. Take a look at your Instant Web App to see how they are used and tweak them as necessary before publishing your app.
Q: What’s the revenue split?
A: We do a 50/50 revenue share.
Q: How do I get paid?
A: We pay via PayPal.
Q: What ads are shown in my app? Do I have control over the ad content?
A: We use ads from a variety of ad networks. In general, we try to show content relevant ads. However, you do not have control over the ad content. At this time, we are unable to let you control ads at the app level.
Q: What are mobile alerts?
A: Mobile alerts are also called push notifications. They are, essentially, free text messages that get sent to a reader letting them know there is something new in your app.
Q: When do alerts get sent out?
A: Alerts will be sent to readers shortly after we pick up a new story or post from your RSS feeds.
Q: Will all my site content appear in the app search?
A: No, we won’t have access to all your historical content. The search history will begin when you configure your app. Anything that is currently in your RSS feeds will be included.
Q: Are my WordPress tags used in my app?
A: No. At this time, we are don’t have that level of integration with WordPress.
Q: How is the Tag Cloud generated?
A: We use a natural language algorithm to create the Tag Cloud. It’s both time and frequency based. The most recent and most frequently used topics in your app are displayed.
Q: What languages do you support?
A: Currently, all our apps are published in English only. We do, however, have a few apps in Spanish. If you’d like a non-English app, please contact us at support@blogrocket.com.
